Text message alert in your mobile phone

On last Wednesday, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced an order a new system to send text message alerts to US citizen mobile phone on natural disaster or other national emergencies. This is a logical plan since there are more than 250 million people in the country that use mobile phone, where according to Engadget Mobile here individuals can opt out of the system whenever they desire to. But this new system is yet to be use in reality right now, because no goverment agency has been appointed to do the task.
FCC also intend to make mobile wireless operators to send the text with vibration & audio signals for people with dissabilities, these operators will have to comply to the rules within 10 months after an agency has been named to collect & transmit the alerts to them. I really hope other countries like Indonesia will adopt this system too, with more and more natural disasters are happening around the globe we need a quick mass info at hand when needed.
