Last night I finally able to find a time to watch a movie that has been stashed for quite some time in my drawer, it's "Eagle Eye". The movie got a fine line-up of movie stars, but nevertheless the attention goes to the young rising star Shia LaBeouf and America's new sweetheart Michelle Monaghan.

When Apple made a movie: Breaking and Entering

Like for an instance, when the delivery service drops Macs at the office on the King's Cross. The delivery man shows a list of computers, ordered by Will's (played by Jude Law) office. It's so obvious that the whole computers shown in the list are Macs.
And when the story continues, Will's MacBook is stolen and then there's a couple of scene where the boy, who stole it uses the laptop. In fact, in one scene the MacBook is shot in the dark, showing the glowing famous Apple logo which usually put on the back of each MacBooks.
A more conspicuous scene that shows Apple is putting its stock into this movie, is when a police comes in to investigate Will's office where the Macs are all stolen from. The police name is Bruno Fella, CID (played by Ray Winstone) said "Don't you just love a Mac? Sweet, huh?" while he's trying out an iMac accompanied by Will (Jude Law) ;-p
Overall "Breaking and Entering" is a deep drama and it would be much fitting for those who are looking for a movie that stick close to real life, but unfortunately that's not for me.

Treo 680 sightings in the "Incredible Hulk" movie

But this time, I got the screenshots taken from the movie. Well, what do I've got to say? I've just got the DVD few days ago, it's slower for Hollywood movies to get here at my little small town.
The first sighting is when Betty (played by the gorgeous Liv Tyler) pulls out a Treo from her bag, and starts smiling while text messaging someone or reading a text message with it. And then more assurance that the Treo used in the movie is the 680, can be seen from a clear shot of it when Bruce Banner (played by Edward Norton) tosses out the entire contents of Betty's purse on a bed.
It's a great feeling for a Palm addict, like me, that the aging Treo 680 is still being used in new major Hollywood movies like this one. Who said Palm is dying? ;-p

Do you know how small smartphones in the future gonna be?

Last night I was searching my DVD collection for a light movie to watch, and since the U.S. President election is the highlight news nowadays; I thought I'll just re-watch the "Man of The Year" movie again.
And I believe it was a right decision, I've always love watching Robin Williams act. He always able to crack up a smile, and his movie there is not an exception.
Aside from a good story about Presidential election process & e-voting system (which is also one of the most talked about technologies being used in today's U.S. President election), Robin Williams makes a funny joke about how small devices in the future. I won't spoil the fun, you're just gonna have to watch for yourself the snipped video that I've embedded below this post. Enjoy!
Lastly, I'm going to re-quote a wise saying about politicians from the movie; which Tom Dobbs (the character played by Robin Williams) also has quoted from Benjamin Franklin: "Politicians are a lot like diapers. They should be changed frequently, and for the same reason."
Don't you agree? ~LOL~ Have a nice and fun weekend my dear readers, we all need it to face a hectic Monday tomorrow.

Centro & Treo sightings in the "CSI: New York" tv series

Unfortunately, the Centro is used by the bad guy (played by Elias Koteas). In fact, in one of the scene when the Centro is used, there's a splatter of blood on the top of its back (first screenshot). Then nearing the end of the episode, Joe the bad guy flashes the screen of the Centro (second screenshot). And guess what? The wireless carrier used is Sprint, I wonder if Sprint is one of the sponsors of this episode?
I also noticed that Mac Taylor (played by Gary Sinise) is using a Treo as his main mobile phone, as you can see on the last screenshot up there; it's pretty clear to see Treo's recognizable keyboard. Although I never able to clearly see what Treo type he is using... Maybe you guys have better luck than me.
Another notable mobile phone usage in this tv serie is an iPhone, used by Det. Stella Bonasera (played by Melina Kanakaredes -- such a cool name ;-D). Thank goodness, I never see iPhone is being used up-side-down in CSI: New York. ~LOL~ IMHO, the easiest mobile phone to noticed by the view of its back; is the iPhone.

Treo 650 sighting in the "Street Kings" movie

Apparently, I placed my hopes too high. Because I'm only thrilled to follow the story of the movie up until at least 30 minutes since it started, I can already guessed the end of the story and who's the real culprit is.
Personally, I think Keanu Reeves is too good looking to play the role as a street detective. His face is somewhat between sweet and baby face, and not burly enough to be a tough white guy who took a shot and still live the rest of the day. Annette Cardwell from filmcritic.com wrote a comment about this movie: "Whoever heard of a 'blaxploitation' movie with a white hero? Now you have: Street Kings." Blaxploitation seems right enough to say about Keanu's character in the movie...
But, I give Keanu a credit and lift my hat for made his acting a notable one compared to other actors out there who are only good at showing off their faces.
And I noticed that Captain Jack Wander, played by Forest Whitaker, is using a Treo 650 at the end of the movie. It's a quick usage and I almost missed it. But the antena, and the white stripe on the side of its bulky body give away the clue. ;-)

Orgy sightings of Nokia handsets in the "How to Rob a Bank" movie

[removes tape from Jessica's mouth] Jessica: [sarcastically] "That's what they call a cell phone."
Soon after the opening scenes, the above conversation took place between the two main characters in the "How to rob a bank" movie. Which pretty much give an early clue of what you'll see in the movie, right from the start to the end.
I didn't want to do anything tonight, only but to relax after a hectic day and watch a movie. Any movie will do, I thought, and so I picked this movie with a title that intriqued me most.
Basically, this movie is an 'orgy' of Nokia handsets sightings. Pardon my language there, but it is true. It looks like the movie is funded and directed by Nokia, because the talking between characters in the movie is done mostly with mobile phones; and there's no other branded phones in there beside Nokia's.
The first Nokia phone to appear is the 6103, if I'm not mistaken. This phone belongs to Jessica, played by the sexy Erika Christensen. And it's being used from the start until the very end of the movie, amazing if the phone's battery can actually lasts that long. ;-p It's a movie after all...
After that the 9300 also makes few clear appearences, like you can see in the middle picture above; the 9300 is shot in close up for several times. This one also brought by Jessica.
The villain named Simon, played by Gavin Rossdale is using 5140i, again if I'm not mistaken. There's a funny scene, where he throws the 5140i to the police when it's battery died. In contrast with the 6103 up there, perhaps this act is to tell the truth about 5140i's battery real life? ~LOL~
And then Jinx, the main character played by Nick Stahl, pulls out his own Nokia's phone: the 6630. But this one doesn't shot clear enough, only partial shoots while in use and often blocked because of Jinx's face.
The last but not the least, is the N90 used by Officer DeGepse played by Terry Crews.
It's funny for me, and a pity that there's no expensive Nokia's handsets seen in the movie. For example like the 8800 series, or the business series such as the E61/62.
Overall, the movie's idea itself is interesting and gives a true fact about how banks are literally "rob" us even only in the amount of cents. But too bad, the conversations are nerve wrecking. Apart from those conversations are all done with mobile phones, the audience must see the same room and same places over and over again.
Personally, the only reconciliation for me to bear keep on watching this movie is because of Erika Christensen... ;-)

According to Verizon, the price of the Nokia 6205 The Dark Knight edition will be available online for $69.99 after a $50 online instant rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
Yesterday I forgot to post a celebrity who uses mobile phone, so today I'm gonna treat you guys with the photo shot pictures below (click to enlarge it) from The Dark Night premiere night at AMC Loews Lincoln Center-NYC on Monday evening on July 14th. The movie’s casts such as Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman and Maggie Gyllenhaal were joined by Hollywood guests. Like Blake Lively who posed her sexy legs in front of the bat-mobile (yowza!), and Lauren Conrad shyly crossed her legs. ;-D

Maggie Gyllenhaal, who plays attorney Rachel Dawes in “The Dark Knight”, added: “He did something that is difficult even for every great actor. It’s still very unusual to hit a stride that is so free that you can really do no wrong. There’s no way to judge what he did. He was absolutely free.”
Yes, you're a great actor Heath. A Salute to Heath's magnificent play, for portraying the Joker character perfectly. But you're free now, and we're going to miss you... ;~
In the mean time, to cheer you up, why don't you watch a video below about Bale revealing his "Dark" secret. Source is from GossipGirls.

Indiana Jones mania

- It’s been almost 19 years since the third movie, so to think why would George Lucas & Steven Spielberg wanted to resurrect Dr. Indiana Henry Jones Jr. back to silver screen again for the fourth one; would be enough to spark your curiosity isn’t it?
- It’s a Steven Spielberg movie for cryin’ out loud!
- No one except the actors, actresses & everyone who are involved directly with the movie; have know of the movie’s storyline. Spielberg & Lucas have made it very strict on the secrecy of the story; they even made people who work in it to sign a contract that stated them not to leak the story to anyone.
- the movie is set to be released world wide on May 22th, only such a major movie will get such treatment from Hollywood power house.
- the cast of stars like Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, John Hurt and many more; surely has stated enough this is a huge movie.
- maybe the very-last movie of Indiana Jones to be made.
- Google it up, and you’ll get too many of hits that your monitor’s vertical resolution can handle. Including some funny behind the stories before the movie was made, read them here.
Pheew, I think I should stop there. Otherwise I’ll sounds more like a PR for Indiana Jones movie ;-p
But what that’s all about got to do with PA & your mobile phone? If you’re a huge fan of Indiana Jones, or love playing games with your mobile gadgets; then you can replay the old RPG game: Indiana Jones & the Fate of Atlantis (pictured left). Just to rekindle the spirit of the past memories, where sometimes those old 2D games are still my favorites to play even for now. If you recall I’ve posted long ago here at PA about it, too bad LucasArts is no longer make such adventure games like Indiana Jones there & Monkey Island 2 anymore.
But you may be wondering on how to make those old games run on your current modern gadgets right? Well, this is where ScummVM will barge in. ScummVM will become the engine to bridge the old platform with the nowadays OS of your devices, the current version (v0.11.1) has already supported many OS platforms. Including Windows Mobile 6, Palm OS 5, iPhone, etc., just download it from their website here.
I’ve noticed Sammy & my fellow Associate Writer, Ronald Abadi have also posted about it there at PA. Check it out; it’s a nice getaway if you’re bored with modern games. Although you’ll still need the games you wanted to play aside from ScummVM, you probably could get them from eBay or others places which sell official old games. Remember, stay safe and stay straight! ;-D
