Don't forget to backup your iPhone
It's end of the weekend, have you remembered to backup your Treo(s) or your iPhone? We know how important it is to have at least one new backup once in awhile, just to avoid those head-banging, hair-pulling & screaming-out-of-your-lung expressions whenever our mobile phones crashes.
For iPhone owners, check out this Apple's Knowledge Base Article on how to backup your iPhone & iPod Touch: "You can also use iTunes to create a backup of settings and certain other information on your iPhone or iPod touch to use in case you want to restore the software on your iPhone or iPod touch or transfer this information to a different device. Backup information includes information such as mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings, certain network settings, and other preferences.” Which according to iPhone Atlas who found it; the article describes when backups occur, the difference between syncing and backing up, and how to restore from backups. It also details the process for deleting unwanted backups.
Another interesting alternative way to have an on-line iPhone's phonebook, and also expand it into a massive contact list; is to use Facebook web page that's optimized for iPhone. According to Josh Lowensohn (Webware) who tried it; " The real killer app though is the call option, which will pop up assuming your friend has made their phone number available. This works with e-mail addresses too, but the phone numbers basically turn Facebook into one big mobile phonebook for your friends." Just point your Safari browser to this link, and the 'iPhone-alike' web page's user interface will get you familiar with it faster.
Good luck, and happy backing up!
