Texas Instrument & Microvision show off their mobile projectors

When mobile phones with camera were introduced way back then, there are a handful of people who detest the idea. But soon after awhile, the high prices of mobile phones with embedded camera have came down; no one is complaining anymore.

The same case probably will happen with Texas Instrument's (TI) mobile projector, pictured left. TI is currently the only company in the world that is producing mobile projector, and it's called Digital Light Processing (DLP) chipset. In the chipset are already included an imaging chip & a processor unit, small enough to cramped inside a thick mobile phone. But I don't think it's yet fit into thin mobile phones such as iPhone...

According to
UnwiredView; John Van Scoter, the senior vice president of Texas Instruments (TI), has confirmed that projectors in mobile phones are coming later this year when he was speaking in Taipei at a TI forum on May 14th.

TI is not the only one who has been developing mini-sized projector,
Microvision also has managed to show off a refined prototype model, almost to the point of being a finished product. And Brighthand has found out that Microvision's mini projector has few advantages, such as giving a much brighter screen, no focusing adjustment needed as the distance from the wall changed, and in dark rooms made viewable screens upwards of 80-90".

Check out Microvision's
galleries to take a look at what its mobile projector can offer to help you to more annoy other people, it's not just loud talking anymore but also by blinding others with your favorite movies. ;-p But I do believe, mobile projector will become a common add-on in the future. Watch below hands-on TI DLP video clip, and you'll see why I think like that.
