iPhone apps watch: new Sketches

One of the most popular app for jailbroken first gen iPhone is Sketches, which allows iPhone owners to draw on top of photos they synced from iPhone or snapped with the built-in camera. The killer "feature" was the ability to shake your iPhone to erase what you had drawn.

But with Apple's blessing on letting software developers to create new and awesome apps for iPhone with its iPhone SDK; the creator of Sketches is planning to bring a new version of it to the App Store.

ArsTechnica has gotten a sneak peek of preview on what the new Sketches app will look like, and how it will work. They sat down with Jorge and Pedro of LateNightSoft, who had flown out from Spain to attend WWDC and talk about their application Xslimmer.

Here's a partial of their conversation: "The LateNiteSoft guys showed us the current incarnation of Sketches; the UI is as polished as any Delicious Generation application. The main screen is a cork board, which has all of the sketches you've created tacked up with pushpins. When you start a new drawing, you can choose from a wide variety of backgrounds, including a paper or leather texture, a solid color, a photo from your library, a photo you snap from your camera, a map (centered using Core Location), or even a web page."

Even by only looking at the screenshot above, seems like the new Sketches app promises an awesome user experience using it on iPhone. This one is a must to watch over, and probably must have app, when it finally available in App Store for you to grab. ;-D
