Believe it or not, the mysteriously over popular handset that's not even build yet; Gphone, is now going to be a hot topic again after once frozen and archived in the old vault of mobile tech rumors. Caught the news at TechCrunch (via BGR), where TechCrunch got the idea that when Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergei Brin and CEO Eric Schmidt sat down unexpectedly Thursday for 75 minutes with a dozen journalists to give their impressions on the state of the technology community and Google's place in it.“The trio of Google execs also used the opportunity to talk about the inroads the company is making with its own branded mobile phone as a replacement for the iPhone, as well as the Chinese market and how they're treated there -- and even Google's inhouse educational programs and the salaries and potential of teachers."
The most interesting part is when TechCrunch got a hold of a very intriguing news from a trusted source, that continues to enfuel the rumors about Gphone:
"And there’s more - we’ve been tracking a story recently that San Francisco based Ammunition Design Group, which has designed computers, mobile phones, hardware, and other devices for companies like Palm, Hewlett-Packard, Dell Computer, and Logitech, may be working with Google to create an Android-based, Google branded Gphone. Founder Robert Brunner was previously the Director of Industrial Design at Apple Computer until 1997, where he provided design and direction for all Apple product lines. The image above is a phone that Ammunition Group designed for Sprint and is shown on their website."
You can call me naive, but it's the same feeling you have whenever you use Google's web services. We trust our private & business emails with Gmail, use Google Docs on-line, read RSS news at Google Readers everyday, when we wanted to search somethin we'll just "Google-it-up" on the web, and the list is still going. It'll eventually comes natural, if Gphone is to be made then Google will surely make it 100% compatible with all of its web services. So, do you think you still don't want a Gphone now? ;-D
