An imagination come true: iPhone as Money?

Naw, that's not what I have in mind. Although it would be super-cool if there's actually Steve Jobs picture on dollar bills, like in the picture there. I'm sure Apple fans have voted and agreed. ~LOL~

But when iPhone SDK has finally reach its final version, and App Store is officially launch on June 11th along with iPhone 3G; the idea of using iPhone as multi-device for various purpose is limitless.
And one good idea, well it's actually more kinda like an imagination, but nevertheless it's a bold yet realistic imagination that is invisioned by Christopher Breen from
Macworld. Which basically seen from the popularity gain from iPhone as everybody's favorite mobile phone, and with the upcoming new features in second gen of iPhone such as 3G & GPS.

"Those two features are the iPhone’s new location and communications protocols—WiFi, EDGE/3G, cell-tower triangulation, and GPS—and the existing iTunes WiFi Music Store. Specifically, there’s incredible power in a device that knows where it is and that can purchase stuff based on its location." quoted from Christopher post.

So, how does he meant by: iPhone as money? I'll let his imaginations describe the best of it:
"You’re just blown into town for a business trip and you’d like to eat somewhere other than in the hotel’s restaurant. You and your iPhone leave the hotel and stroll down Main Street. Tap the iPhone’s Local button and a screen appears featuring Shopping, Services, Restaurants, and Entertainment entries. -->

Tap Restaurants and every eating establishment within a mile appears. Choose a cuisine, find a place that sounds interesting, tap its name, and its menu appears—complete with the day’s specials. Tap Reservation and the iPhone tells you if there’s a wait for a table. Tick off the items on the menu that you’d like and tap Order. -->

Head to the restaurant. As you walk in the door, your iPhone tells the receptionist that you’re there and ready to be seated at the table reserved for you. Moments after you sit down your cocktail is delivered as, later, is your dinner. When you’re ready to leave, get up and go, your iPhone has already paid."

IMHO, I don't think Christopher's imagination there is not going to be just dreams anymore. Because it might come true when iPhone is keep on gaining fame, which will resolute in more usage by its users. We've seen this similar situation in Palm devices, where many apps are abundant & available for many use from trivial things to important stuffs.

The real question should be: is there stopping for iPhone to become more than just a wallet?
